Clare has included three new weavings in a show inspired by the dazzling title pages of Islamic and Medieval European manuscripts with reference to their intricate rug-like patterns. The show also focuses on the motif of roots reflecting the physical structure of plants - whether hierarchical (like a tree) or rhizomatic (like grass) - and the natural pigments and dyes used in rug making.
